Privacy
TheRideHome.ca is operated by Moon Industries Ltd. We've built the platform to collect as little identifying information as possible. This page explains, in plain terms, what we hold and why.
Who is responsible for your data
bayfolk inc. maintains the reports/data derived from this tool. You can reach us at hello@bayfolk.ca.
What we collect
- Account. A one-way hash of your email address (we never store the address itself), either a hashed password or a Google sign-in identifier, and an automatically generated handle. We cannot recover your email from what we store.
- Reports. The structured survey answers you submit, plus any optional free-text notes. We ask you not to include names, exact ages, addresses, or other identifying details about any child.
- Limited technical data. For abuse prevention we store a one-way hash of your network address (never the address itself). We use cookies for your sign-in session, your colour theme, and โ during closed testing โ your access code.
What we do not do
- We do not store your real name or email address in a readable form.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not track you across other websites.
How we use what we collect
Reports are reviewed under your handle only, curated for quality, and combined into aggregate statistics that suppress any group too small to be safe. Account and technical data exist to let you sign in, to let you manage your own reports, and to keep the platform from being abused.
How long we keep it
You can delete your own reports or your whole account at any time, which removes them immediately.Your choices and rights
You can view and permanently delete any report you've submitted, and you can delete your account, which cascades to remove all of your reports.
Children's information
This service is intended for parents and caregivers, who are adults โ not for children. We deliberately avoid collecting identifying details about any child and ask reporters to do the same.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page. Questions: hello@bayfolk.ca.
